Last night I dreamt that Matt and I were going to take a trip to visit my cousin Candie and her husband Joel in the Middle East. I remember her calling me and telling me exactly where they were staying…down to the street. I even looked it up on Google maps and told matt that is was a short flights and a short drive there so it shouldn’t cost too much. The area she was in was supposedly north of Israel and Jordan, but the map showed the eastern portion of the Sinai Peninsula by the sea. Weird.
Anyway, we went to the area she lived in, and she met up with us at a party. There were tons of Arab people dancing, and my cousin, her husband and matt were standing under a canopy by a table of food. Some strange guy asked me to dance, and I said no, that I had to get going, but he forced me to dance with him. It was some weird line dancing kind of like Irish dancing. I was really embarrassed because I didn’t know the steps. I looked over to matt for support, and I noticed that Scott Kindness my old boss was over there. What was he doing in the Middle East?
After the party my cousin took us to her new home, which was in a large concrete building. Once inside the building I noticed that it was a wide-open space that was subdivided into smaller rectangles. The rectangles had carpeting and the aisles between them were concrete. Around the edges of the rectangular spaces were beaded curtains that went from the ceiling to the floor. Each area was an apartment; maybe 10’x20’ in size.
Candie was excited because they were on an outside wall so they could lean up again the wall and not waste space with furniture. She also liked it because she was close to the apartment that had the fireplace. In addition to the little apartments they had communal kitchens and bathrooms. It was so public, but I told her it was nice, and the simplicity about it made it easy to maintain.
It was a pretty boring dream over all, but quite odd.
