I was in final crit for the final project of a class at MIAD. Everyone’s work was beautifully displayed. It looked like a really nice exhibit space. Much fancier than the thesis show presentations. The building wasn’t actually MIAD, well it was MIAD in the dream but that’s not how MIAD looks at all. It was like they had converted this space that had been a post-modern (but a good po-mo) interpretation of a Greek temple or something. It’s hard to explain I guess I’d have to draw it or something. It was a long hall, maybe 35-40 feet wide. Towards the end there were steps that went up, but only like 5-6 steps, not like to a different floor. At the top of the steps in the middle of the hall there was like a room within the hall that was like 15 feet wide and like 20-30 feet long. The hall went around either side of it. Around this room were these cool columns. It’s like that room had been built as a greek style temple inside the hallway. I don’t think it had a roof though, I think it just wen to the cieling. I’m not sure though the dream didn’t cover that much.
In between the columns people had their work displayed behind glass panels. There was also work set up in the stairs in nice displays and also along the walls of the hallway. I was walking around looking at the work. It was really good. I remember one peice as somehow being about baseball in Japan but really weird/abstract, like it was an interpretation of the letters “e” and “i” into japanese baseball players or something. I thought the concept was weird in the dream but it was done extremely well.
As I was walking around looking at all these great peices, I noticed that mine wasn’t there. Where was my peice? Then I couldn’t even remember working on a peice for this class or project. OH NO! I completely forgot to do this! I’m totally going to fail the class. I really started freaking out.
Of course then I woke up. I was so glad when I remembered that I am no longer in school.
You have pretty good dreams compared to mine. Normally I’m being chased by someone who is trying to kill me and I have to kill them to save my life.
